Meet-the-2017-Kia-Sportage-at-Rusty-Wallace-Kia

The 2017 Kia Sportage is, like its predecessors, an unexpected and affordable alternative to other compact SUVs, including the Hyundai Tucson or the Honda CR-V. The newest model turns up the appeal by several notches, combining a stylish, exterior design with modern interior features to create a vehicle that buyers love. With an increased body length and a spacious backseat, the new Sportage is among our best options for drivers who want both comfort and innovation in their next SUV.

Sleek Exterior

The Sportage has been in its fourth generation since 2015, when Kia introduced sharper edges and smoother surfaces to the vehicle’s shape. According to the manufacturer, the sportier body was inspired by modern fighter jets. It’s offered in three trim options – EX, LX, and SX – with exciting features at every level.

The 2017 Kia Sportage offers a distinctive look with its signature tiger nose grill, low-profile taillight, body-colored door handles, wrap-around design, and an array of integrated LEDs. Features like these set the car apart from other compact SUVs, establishing a new standard of style in the industry.

Spacious Interior

The longer car body allows for more room within the vehicle, seating five comfortably. The cubby spaces are larger, with more room in the both the door bin (enough to carry a liter bottle) and the glove compartment. There are other new eye-catching features as well: chrome effects, leather stitching on top of the dashboard, and flat face dash design which provide elegant touch-points at a budget-friendly price.

Power and Comfort

The 2017 Kia Sportage has received acclaim for its quick straight-line acceleration and exceptional performance while braking on turns. With 181 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm, this model packs a little more punch than it has in the past. And with 23 MPG in the city, it’s an economical choice for your day-to-day commutes.

One of the most distinguishing benefits of the new Sportage, however, is its superb damping on choppy pavement. The suspension absorbs impacts to ensure a smooth ride on almost any terrain. To increase visibility on the road, the new model also has an elevated driving position.

Peace of Mind

The new Kia Sportage makes your trips safer in addition to more stylish. With features like antilock disc brakes, traction control, a rearview camera, hill-start assist, front seat airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags, you can feel more secure as you drive.

If you upgrade to an SX Turbo, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision mitigation system with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and front and rear parking sensors come standard (they are optional on the Sportage EX). Kia’s Uvo telematics suite, which comes standard on the EX and SX Turbo trims, includes emergency and roadside assistance, stolen vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, and speed tracking.
